Women, Wisdom & Dreams delves into the secret language of dreams and feminine wisdom. Anne Scott shares tools to help interpret and use dreams as an empowering guide.
According to Anne Scott, dreams don’t instantly reveal their meanings, but slowly unfold. This of course requires an open mind and a willingness to do dreamwork. MeditationMeditation is another important aspect for self-healing and tuning into dreams. It’s an excellent way to get rid of tension in order to access inner wisdom that is often hiding when life gets too busy. When women get in touch with their spiritual side, they’re probably less likely to turn to drugs, food or shopping to fill a void. Anne Scott talks further about how dreamwork and meditation can heal emotional wounds in Women, Wisdom & Dreams (Nicasio Press, 2008, ISBN: 978-0-9818636-1-0). Not all dreams will mean the same thing since everyone’s different, but some classic symbolism is included. More details on symbols would have been nice, but perhaps Anne will share them in her next book. DreamworkWriting dreams down remain one of the necessary tasks for dreamwork since they might be forgotten otherwise. What if someone can’t remember their dreams even if they have a notebook handy? Meditation might help someone relax enough to be able to tune into their dreams, but that wasn’t completely clear. Do dreams have the power to heal? Anne Scott says they do if women are willing to get in touch with their inner feelings that nourish their soul. A sample dreamwork process is included in Women, Wisdom & Dreams: The Light Of The Feminine Soul that may help others learn how different characters, examples or situations apply to their lives. Starting a Women’s CircleThis is an excellent way for women to bond as long as everyone feels accepted. They can then share their dreams and meditate together, which can be empowering. Sharing dreams with another person can also clarify them. Feminine SoulAnne asks, “When did a collective shame over the rejected feminine soul take root?” Logical rational thinking does tend to be valued more, although thinking rationally is not necessarily unfeminine. Anne Scott encourages both men and women to explore their dreams in order to tap into a forgotten inner world.
